Casio G-Shock G-Steel analog stainless steel watch blue 44mm GMC-2500D-1A2ER
Casio G-Shock GMC-2500D-1A2ER is based on the watch that started the entire G-Shock story. More than 40 years after the launch of the original 1983 DW-5000C, Casio has translated the iconic octagonal shape and functional design philosophy into a modern, fully analog G-Steel watch in stainless steel.
The result is a G-Shock that clearly stands apart from the brand's traditional digital models. The rounded steel case, integrated steel bracelet and blue dial give the model a more refined sports-watch character, while the classic G-Shock proportions remain easily recognizable. The design has already led enthusiasts to draw parallels with the Patek Philippe Nautilus, and the 2500 series has therefore unofficially acquired the nickname «CasioNaut» in parts of the watch community. Casio's own design inspiration, however, comes directly from the original DW-5000C.
The dial follows Casio's new «two-eye» layout. At 9 o'clock there is a separate small seconds hand, while the new Multi-Mission Date system at 3 o'clock consists of three separate windows. This is the first time G-Shock has used this solution. The display shows not only the date, but can also show the stopwatch minutes, the selected function and information while setting the watch.
Once the year, month and date have been set, the calendar operates automatically all the way through 2099. Casio has thus succeeded in integrating functionality usually associated with digital G-Shock models into a purely analog design.
The GMC-2500 series also features a specially developed analog movement manufactured at Yamagata Casio—the factory Casio refers to as G-Shock's «mother factory». One of the most interesting technical solutions is Shock Release Hand. The minute hand is held in place magnetically and is designed so that the load from heavy impacts can be absorbed and distributed instead of being transferred directly to the hand mechanism.
The small seconds hand can also be put into sleep mode when it is not needed. With the seconds hand active, expected battery life is around 2 years, but by using the Second Hand Sleep function, battery life can be extended to up to 5 years. This makes the function more than just a technical detail—it also provides a significant practical benefit over time.
Despite the more elegant look, this is still a genuine G-Shock. The watch has a shock-resistant construction and 200-meter water resistance, combined with mineral glass, Neobrite on the hands and markers, and amber LED illumination for improved legibility in the dark.

Casio G-Shock GMC-2500D-1A2ER represents a new direction for G-Shock. It combines the design heritage of the very first DW-5000C with a more refined analog sports-watch design, while Casio has also developed an entirely new movement and functions specifically for the series. For those who want G-Shock's robustness but in a more elegant and mature steel watch, this is one of the most interesting G-Shock novelties in a long time.
Shock resistant
A so called shock resistant construction protects the watch against shocks and vibrations.
LED light
A light diode (light-emitting diode / LED) is used to light up the dial of the watch.
Neo-display
A luminous coating requires xposure to light, to provide a light effect in the dark.
Date display
The date is shown on the display.
Stopwatch 1 second - 30 minutes capacity
Running time, interval time and the final time are measured within the nearest second, and it can measure time up to 30 minutes.
Auto calendar
Corrects automatically for months/years with different lengths.
Long batterylife
The battery in this watch will last at least 2 years, because the watch use less energy.
Stainless steel bracelet
Tough, durable and elegant; a bracelet made of stainless steel gives the watch a classic quality look.
Mineral crystal
This, very durable, mineral crystal has improved protection.
Quartz Watch
A battery-powered quartz watch is controlled by fluctuations in a crystal of the mineral quartz. These oscillations change very little over time, which is why quartz is often used - because it retains its accuracy.
Water protection: 200 meter (20 bar)
This watch can be worn while swimming/snorkeling (near the surface). The value refers to the pressure in water, at that depth, while motionless... and should not be seen as the depth for wearing the watch..
Condensation - important!
Rapid changes in temperature can cause condensation inside the watch. If you notice moisture beneath the glass, you should immediately go to a watchmaker, who can open and dry the watch. Even if the signs of moisture disappears, by themselves... the moisture will not - and will eventually damage your watch - so, visit a professional and remove it permanently. Even waterproof watches are not protected against condensation, so keep that in mind if you plan to go from very hot to very cold temperatures - like from a hot sauna directly to the snow. If condensation occurs, it very rarely (if ever) depends on manufacturing, so if your watch is damaged by moisture, warranty will probably not cover it (it could be manufacturing issues, but... most likely it will be because of the rapid change of temperature = natural causes).
Case made of stainless steel.
Sizes
Does this watch fit your wrist? Wristwatches has gradually become larger in size, and a typical men's watch is usually between 40 and 45 mm wide. If you have a wrist that is noticeable larger/smaller, we recommend that you focus on the sizes in/outside the outer edges of the typical sizes. How is the size of the watch measured?
The diameter
The common term is diameter, but since not all watches have circular watch cases, the diameter is actually the width measured from left to right. Note that some manufacturers include the crown (to set the clock) and the buttons when measuring the width, but we try to standardize all the watches by not including the crown as part of the measured width.

The thickness - or height of the watch in profile - is indicated by measuring the watch from top to bottom as illustrated below. By comparison, a 1-euro coin is 2.33 millimeters thick.
One usually defines the watches with these numbers:
Slim: 4-6 millimeter
Normal: 6-12 millimeter
Big: 12-14 millimeter
Oversize: 14-18 millimeter
